Research Station with Mining Module, no Freighters got the clue

Hi Community,

due to money savings, i had the idea to put small mining engine on Research Stations, as the nearest Object to your homeworld seems guaranteed have a research bonus, and usually for the first 30 years there is no such big need for the ressources whatever is on that object (except its luxery), that it will be enough to get mined by mining ships + the research station

so far so good, its working, the design setup has enough capacity to fit the idea in, in "ressource" window on that station it shows properly what is mined here, but it will be stocked for ever at maximum cargo, no freigther is going there to pick it up, but should, the sit arround and play with their balls

it is not designed that freighters pick up freight at Research Stations? then it feels odd.. or is it buggy or is there maybe a module missing, basically i just upgrade the RS setup and add mining engine on it

Wouldn't it be better to go with Mining Station with a Lab? You'll have far more MS than RS.

As well, Role, the Role of a research station is science. The AI knows to bring the needed resources to it, but not how to bring resources FROM an RS

you can not have Lab on Mining Station as their is no 60 size slot for that, which in my opinion is the right design, otherwise research would go out of control

on the other hand my approach with a mining module on research plattform should work, as the module fits in regardless, so it should work, i guess its missing or buggy that no one pick up freight

Has it maybe got funny amounts for resource stockpile reserves?

Although role restriction seems more likely.
