I hope scenarios will be developed regarding the French intervention in Mexico. Alternate history scenarios regarding US and/or Confederate intervention in that conflict would be fascinating.

G'day! Can't believe I finally get to write my first forum post about the game - been waiting a very long time to be able to do this, very exciting

.
France's intervention in Mexico isn't going to be included in the game as a separate scenario - instead I've built it in to the main campaigns. When the French seize control of the Veracruz Customs House in December 1861, a new faction will appear in the city (the Mexican Empire), and every so often after that an event will popup telling you about the recent actions in Mexico and shifting the borders of Mexico and the Empire to reflect the current front lines.
That all changes when France enters the war...
When Napoleon III jumps in, both Mexico (on the Union's side) and the Mexican Empire (on the Confederate) will activate, with their forces positioned in accordance with their historical deployments at that time - if France joins in the summer of 1862, you'll find General Lorencez licking his wounds after the Cinco de Mayo, if they join a year later you'll find Marshal Forey victorious in Mexico City. At that point, both the Union and the Confederacy will also be able to send forces into Mexico (and in the Union's case, MPPs via a convoy provided they control El Paso and New Mexico), and balancing your commitments between the fights in Mexico and the United States will be important if you are to win what is now a much wider war!

That's super interesting Ryan. What else can you talk about concerning the game? Will artillery be modeled as being within certain brigades/division or is there also going to be an emphasis on artillery batteries as individual units on the map? Also, how long will we have to wait until we can get our hands on this?! (Sorry, I had to try

)

That is fascinating! I have been interested in this period of Mexican history since viewing the film Juarez (1939) on television back in the 1960s.

I'm reading every post on the forum. Occasionally I'll post something on one of them
