Trade/treaty questions

Looking at the galactopedia….
Trade treaties: if there is a trade imbalance in MY favor, I want to have a limited or restricted agreement to make more money? And if it is in THEIR favor, I want a free trade agreement
Defensive Treaty: are they broken? I attacked an enemy with a defensive pact and they did NOT come to help
Mining rights: seems bad? Why would I want to let the AI build in my territory?
Finally, blockade vs bombard- I can’t see a reason I’d want to blockade as I seem to take a massive reputation hit from blockading- seems better to just bombard abs invade
