well to set the stage
JP CV's in the slot, running back and forth, but under the clouds, a US TF with a CV and 3 CVE's is tracking to the north, but they get caught, 2 CVE's damaged and will need to go back to port and then home, 2 BB TF's are sent out to try and trap the JP before they can leave for home

both TF's miss by a Hex, but some air strikes finally strike home, doing little damage, but most of all, taking out most of the CAP, gamble on where they will run to, and set the BB's to try and be there first, with the CV/CVE tracking to the north in case they miss (don't think they will head back to Shortland or to the coast north of Shortland as it is a sub trap

Bobby Lee surprises them !, and puts 7 ships on fire/heavy damage and 3 more with lesser damage, on the surprise round, next round is at 2000 yards, followed by one more at 7000, then they break off

which Bobby spins around and again surprises them, with a 2nd round at 7000 yards

with Mitscher and then the Marines at Lambeti ruining the rest of the day

Got reports that both CV's went down, the CVL is hit very HARD and the other CVL that was in another TF that broke towards Shortland, took 3 1000 ers the day before

the Washington is a Crip and once it makes it back to port will be send on a long trip home, along with the 2 CVE's

never seen so many 16 in shell hits !, one DD(the Yugiri) took 7 in row, the CV took 5, the CVL took 2, most of the BB ended the fight with 0 to 2 rounds of ammo left for the big guns

the Marines took out the 2 DD as they tried to return to Shortland, 3 DD's from the CV FT were found and sunk, and one of the CA's blew up on it's own (FOW and all, but think the whole CV TF went down)

the AP TF that the CV's were running interference for, came into range and was pounded silly, if they make it into Shortland, they may find out they didn't want to go there after all
