I've had my spies mainly on Counterintelligence and notice they 'disappear' with no warning or notification. Is this normal?

I've gone from 4 to 1 spies and was shocked to realize it.

The most common way I've seen this happen is if they get captured during their mission. Try asking your neighbors if they have any spies to sell back to you

Sometimes the game dismisses spies due low qualification.

If we dismiss a spy (or other character), does it increase the chance of getting the next one?

It would seem to me that having a bad agent working counterintelligence would be better than not. The fact that the AI would send them away calls that assumption into question.

I deliberately give back or trade poor spy’s so they use them again and lose approval. I keep the skilled ones and bribe them to join me. Another tip is don’t bombard a planet with your captured characters on it as they die alongside the enemy If your not getting a message when they disappear check msg settings?
