If I had another turn I was taking the last victory point on the map, so I feel pretty good about this. Granted, I'm fairly certain I *only* achieved it via exploit... are 3 rifle brigades supposed to combine into a rifle corps? Anyways I ran the air this time and it went ok I guess. I'll probably do that in the GC from now on.

This time I went on the strategy of trying to take both central VPs in an opening pocket. This got rebuffed so we settled on the consolation prize of taking just the fortress, plus two battalions that had tried to reinforce/reopen the supply line. After some light maneuvering in the south I regrouped my 3 corps for the infantry push on Velikie Luki, which occurred on turn 7. Then the corps rested a turn and on turn 9 we slammed into their last fortress, which retreated. I marched one of my guards corps north to make sure I took that since I had no idea what was there and needed something that could chase off that panzer division.

In retrospect I still can be moving faster, but I think here I need to simply be more deliberate.

Question for the crowd: when modifying air directives can I change the number of escorts? We knew there was no enemy air in the area so I really would have preferred if my gd support had just, you know, shot at the enemy. I thought I would be able to control that but I suppose not.

Also, what is this rifle regiment, and is there any way to turn the random brigades into support units?

You can assign the air groups that do the ground support manually and don't assign the fighter escorts.
