Hello, it is 1942 and I have a massive superiority in planes with Soviet air force set to ground support and nothing else but it is not flying at all. I have tried religiously setting each air army hq to ground support and in desperation turn after turn and in desperation tried the ai last turn with disastrous results after the airfields were overrun but the airforce is still not flying ground support at all.
Any ideas why?

i would only guess that weather for GS might be bad, or you put air groups on rest instead of day or day & night

Clear weather. Have not put any squadrons on rest but I will check.

Only other possibility i can think of is the air support button being toggled off? Are your planes not flying ever, or are fighters still flying for intercepts and the like?

No Soviet planes flying.

Where is the ground support button?

Ground attack and recon are flying but not ground support.

It is the 'x' button to enable / disable ground support.
