Plague question

How do you know which colonies have a plague?
How do you know which plague?
How can you see the extent of the plague and progress towards a cure?

I know 1 and 2 are answered in the initial notifications, but how do you track after that?

Is it really needed? Current plagues have very minor effects on colonies.

My primary colony went from 3500M population to 2500M population before it stopped, so yeah I think it's important. At least to know which colonies are currently suffering.

You can find the outbreak in ..\Steam\steamapps\common\Distant Worlds 2\data\MessageLog.xml , just look for plague or any other word you remember was used in the original message.

There was no message when it went away - should be filed as a minor bug.

While it was active there was a tiny icon shown on selected colony.

When it hit I instantly forbid any migration. It was the last I've heard about the plague.
Normally you'll get messages of colony hopping spread events. Not this time.
Note that the Spaceport incl. Medical Center was under construction (0%). Whether this help or not, I can't say for sure. Quarantine seemed to be the way to go - or I was just lucky.

The plague was gone within about three to five months.
