[1.0.3.9] Suggested improvement to colony ship behavior

With 1.0.3.9, it's now possible to unload passengers from a colony ship onto an existing planet, without destroying the colony ship. Based on this behavior, I suggest that colonizing an independent world should also be done without dismantling the colony ship.
Thematically, this reflects whether the colony ship needs to be dismantled to provide basic infrastructure for a new colony on an uncolonized world, vs being used as a transport to establish a presence on an already inhabited independent world.
Later on, I hope the entire mechanism for integrating independent colonies is revamped, since in most cases the practical thing to do right now is immediately migrate the primary colonizing species off of the independent colony as fast as possible, since it's usually not a good fit for that species.

Great point.

This makes sense logically but it does perhaps present a gameplay problem.
If you can just dump your 30 million whatevers, then immediately lift them back up again and enjoy a nice new world, and then move the diplomatic "delegation" onto the next independent world, then there's potentially not a whole lot of costs associated with the maneuver.
I would argue that it's a bit weird to even require a colony ship to unite a friendly independent world into the empire in the first place, by the way. Logically it should not be necessary. But again, gameplay.

How so? Colony growth takes forever without migration.

I think colony ships are to large to esacpe a planets gravity. There are enough other more important improvements to do.

Same reason you don't colonize low quality worlds in the first place. You don't want your species on a world that is low quality for them - they'll contribute more population growth if they're living on a world that is better quality for them.

Something different about gravity at your colonized planets vs independent colonies?

Agreed, but since the devs are currently working on colony ship behavior, this seems like the time to mention it.
