I haven't figured out what conditions need to be in place to swap type of planes in an air group. I want to swap my regular transports for Me 323. The regular ones are in a level 3 base, there are more of them than the Me 323 I want to swap in, they have zero flight miles, they are supplied and there are no enemy units within many hexes and they are not directly assigned to an air directive. So what else is needed for it to work? I get the window so that I can compare plan types, but no "change" option. What am I missing?

you need enough upgrades in the pool before a change can be made on A/C type.

For instance if you have 40 JU52's and want to swap them. you will need 40 ME 323 in the pool.

Easy way to check without going into the production screens is make a manual upgrade and it will show what other transports are available.

That would explain it. I thought you couldn't have more in the pool than in the unit you wanted to swap from, since you can't choose how many from the pool to use.
