[1243.5] - UI Graphical Glitches

Haven't had much time to test out the new "Tiny" version of CMO, but one thing I noticed is a variety of graphical glitches in the UI.
I think most are self-explanatory, they happened within the Unit sidebar and the Message box. The one difference is that the glitches in the Message Box would switch from glitch to normal and back again every second or so. The ones in the Unit Sidebar would often disapear if you selected another unit.
Glitches in the attached images.

This looks like Direct-X interference from "something else".

Nahimic?

RivaTuner ?

Steam overlays?

Well, I don't have any of those tools you mention, but I do play from steam, so I disabled the Steam overlay for CMO, but the issues still persisted:

The flickering text both in the Message Box and the Unit Sidebar persisted. I really don't used any "gaming" type apps, except perhaps GeForce Experience. Could that possibly be causing this?

Anything that could be related to your graphic card is likely to be the culprit.
So check your graphic card driver.
A window update can be the cause (or the thing missing).
Any 3rd party program that messes up with the GPU.

I am not really an expert on this matter and couldn't reproduce it on my end, there are certainly other things to investigate as well.

I am having the same UI issues. I play CMO through Steam, have the latest NVidia drivers, use Windows 11, and also have "Logitech G Hub" installed. Any ideas? (Hardware-- Intel I9 (10900K) OC 5.1, 32 GB (3200 MHz), and a 2080Ti video card). Thanks.

I had a similar issue quite a while ago. Removing nVidia overlay completely solved it. I would also double check Steam overlay.

I have GeForce experience installed and no issues with the UI but I have the overlay turned off. To rule this out, open GeForce Experience and go to settings, you'll find the overlay options in there, make sure any overlay options are turned off and try it again.

Anything that "Hooks" into software has an increased likelyhood of being the culprit, things like overlay software, recording software, monitoring software etc.

GeForce experience in and of itself isn't likely to be culprit as myself and a few other users I've talked with have it installed as it makes installation of drivers easier and don't have an issue. The overlay feature supported by GeForce Experience can absolutely be causing the issue though.

Safe mode with networking is a good way to rule out if the issue is a background software problem. If Command runs without the UI distortion then that's indicative it's most likely a background program.

If you want to forego the safe mode option then turn off as many background applications as possible (including Logitech G Hub as other users have reported issues with Logitech software in the past) and see if that fixes the graphical glitches.

You can also try after all of the above uling out scaling issues by right clicking the command.exe in Steam Apps>Common Folder selecting properties and under the compatability tab try all three of the options under "Override scaling behavior" (Forgot exactly what it's called)

Lastly, running Command as Administrator can sometimes solve conflicts between Command and any background programs with application "Hooks". If you're running the Steam version to properly run Command in administrative mode both the launcher AND the command.exe need to be set to run as Administrator or command will fail to start.

To do this just make sure you also set the launcher that's in the same folder as your command.exe to run as Administrator via right click Properties and then the compatability tab.

Try all these and please post an update after you've done them and let us know the results.

Sorry for the long delay. I have spent considerable time trying to eliminate all of the suggested causes for my CMO graphics issues but to no avail. None of the suggested remedies have corrected my graphics problem. Now, with the beta version, if I try to play through the distortions, CMO becomes more unreadable, more unstable, and ultimately CTDs. It is my sense that the distortion has something to do specifically with my Alienware R11 computer and my Alienware AW610m mouse. As long as I don't use the mouse, the graphics are fine....

I saw the post from the CMO simmer with the same (or similar) issue, but unfortunately that fix did not work for me. The only reference to "nahmic" I have found referred to my Alienware AW510H 7.1 headset. I removed the headset, uninstalled its drivers, and deleted the only reference to "nahmic" I could find in the registry editor. After several cold starts there was no change in the distortions. Another possibility, in my opinion, is the Alienware Command Center (AWCC) software. In addition to Alienware supported overclocking, AWCC provides a central location for adjusting Alienware components like the AW610m mouse and the AW510H headset to their desired output. Alienware (Dell) has offered no solutions and suggests that the problem is solely with CMO. I must admit that CMO is the only software that has ever caused me any problems like this on this computer. It's important to note that CMO (Steam and downloaded) works as advertised on my Dell notebook computer and on my work Dell desktop.

I purchased the computer in October 2020 with the intent of enjoying CMO (in its latest incarnation) for the first time with proper horsepower behind it. I have had this graphics issue a couple of times on other computers in the past five years, but the suggested fixes have always resolved the problem. Not this time-- so far. Any new suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks for your time and consideration.

So I had Nahimic installed and didn't even know it. The new Beta version threw up a warning everytime it started up, so I checked the Task Manager. There it was, a Nahimic process running. So I uninstalled a bunch of stuff and apparently it was part of RealTek audio drivers, funny thing. I ran a few games after that and the UI glitches have disappeared.

If it wasn't for the error warnings, I wouldn't know I had Nahimic on my system. Solved a few audio bugs I had as well! Thanks!

Can we see some screenshots of the issue?

Also, from what you are saying, if you use another mouse the problem does not appear at all ?
