Maybe DW2 was on sale on Steam recently, but right now (2022-05-27), the prices on the 2 platforms are (in Canadian Dollars):

Steam: $56.99
Matrix: $67.99

As for the difference in price, I remember reading (or watching) something from Erik to the effect that they prefer when people buy from Matrix / Slitherine, because they get a slightly bigger amount that way compare to when bought from Steam.

Steam £32.99
Slitherine/Matrix: £41.99

Depending on where you are there will be local pricing on Steam that Matrix may not support. eg The Brazilian price is equivalent to £15/$20 and the Russian, assuming you can still buy it, is £10/$15 on Steam.

No difference between the Steam and Matrix versions, except Steam is obviously a lot more straightforward to use and Erik wants Steam Workshop integration at some point.
