Question on Shore Bombardment

YueJin thread is doing a good description of the naval game:

Thinking of it, I am wondering why a fleet doing Shore Bombardment is not going automatically from Raider mode to Fleet mode.

I mean. When a fleet is doing an invasion, it is going automatically to Fleet mode. When a fleet is doing a beachhead supply, it is going automatically to Fleet mode.

When you are under the shelling of an enemy fleet, don't you have a radio to say: "Hey, their ships are here". Is it not supposed to increase the detection level of the fleet doing the Shore Bombardment?

Well...I agree sort of.

IF my ships were in fleet mode they would try to intercept enemy ships.

The ships should be able to be left in raider mode but if supplying troops on shore OR bombarding the enemy they should be easier to find.

Perhaps they just provide a +2 to the enemy search when being looked for but be able to stay in raider mode?

Running up and blasting a location for an hour and running away is very different than....

Dropping off supplies or invading which would take much longer.

Their mission is specifically bombardment which has specific ammunition. So they do not want to get into a naval surface fight. They are not there to fight other ships.

Make sense so let's keep Raider mode always.
