Hi
usually these are only the KGr 100 units, but now I see III./KG 2 in the OOB designated with n just like KGr 100 units.
As I see no difference to other Do-17 units, what does that mean ?

Did this unit change base to one of the Fernnachjagdgruppe bases? If so there is a chance that Level Bombers will be fitted with the latest version of Knickebein navigation system for night bombing.

Unfortunately not, it is at Arras which is attached to II. Fliegerkorps, the rest of the Geschwader is also there.
Only additional info I can give is that the Gruppe was at Cambrai before but that airfield is also attached to II. Fliegerkorps, and it seems I had moved the unit to Arras last turn.

Really? That is pretty interesting, night bombing isn't of much use as it seems but maybe some additional schwarms with Knickebein would be helpful.

I checked the code and actually the upgrades are only for 1941. At least one of your planes has one in this group, though I'm not sure how it got there. If the group took replacements, one of the plane records from a shot down Kg100 aircraft might have snuck in with a knickebein in it's nav slot. I will check this out.

I am full BOB 1940 LW. I some "n" squadrons.
As best I can tell they only hit the target 1 out of 5 raids. They have caused total terror among British cows, but it seems that is not figured into the score. I don't know why Gary doesn't know that nervous cows produce sour milk which lowers civilian morale. Probably, a city boy!

You know you only need the "n" (has nav equipment) gruppen as the lead group at night; the rest without nav will follow and the farther the target the more likely you will be off course so stick to the South coastal ports and towns. Unlike BTR, BoB has many small urban areas along the coast without a rail center - i.e. you can only see them if you toggle on urban areas.

Thanks, Richard.
I do know that my best group should take the lead, since everyone either drops on his drop or the flames below.
So, at night that should be "n". (Was that the WWII system that used intersecting radio beams to mark the target?)
Otherwise, I assume the group with highest experience got that rating by being able to hit the pickle barrel.
I did not know about using the population feature to mark costal towns. Gee, Richard. There is a little Bomber Harris/Curtis Lemay in you! Have you tried counseling?
Seriously, I was telling someone that they really missed out at the $10 sale. He plays a lot of WITP-AE. I was saying that I think this game is more approachable. Is it just because I was a prop head? Have you looked at both? What do you think?
Another indication would be the the WITP-AE is 3X the number of pages.

Richard,
Are you saying that any bombing of green circles will be just as good for my terror scores as going to London?
I assume, you like the channel towns as my fighters will have the most fuel to loiter?
Thanks.

Mark, yes the 1940 nav device is the Knickebein system of "following the beam".
I have played WITPAE and it is a different sort of beast than EDBTR. Really depends on the type of conflict you want to play out, right? To complete either one is a triumph of the will. I am a prophead too, and a pilot of a 50hp rag wing pusher-type experimental light sport aircraft. Nothing like flying out over the Pacific Ocean with nothing below your feet!
Only Area targets will give you terror points, but the bigger area targets will yield more terror points. Damaging ports will give you industry points and if sustained it will reduce avgas imports for the RAF in BoB.
