Does HQ strength effect Readiness or just the Supply level they give?

Does HQ strength effect Readiness or just the Supply level they give? From what I can tell a low strength HQ gives the same Readiness boost as a full strength one, is that correct? Obviously a low strength HQ is more vulnerable to attack/

Also does the base supply (not boosted supply) of an HQ affect it's ability to defend itself (e.g. via air attacks)? Will an HQ with higher base supply defend itself better than one with lower base supply, or does this not matter in this case? Thanks!

The combat bonus from a HQ is proportionate to its strength.

Oh really? Is this effect instantaneous? i.e. if I reinforce a low strength HQ to full strength, do the units under its command instantly gain readiness?

Actually, on reflection it really is the impact of their strength on their supply giving abilities where this kicks in, rather than in another way too.

So a damaged HQ in a high supply area will be better able to function and therefore provide combat bonuses than one in a low supply area.

Yes, I think this is correct, I tested this by increasing an HQ's strength in an area where this made no difference to nearby unit's supply levels (e.g. near a capital) and their Readiness value did not change. Of course it does help to increase the survivability of the HQ if bombed and would help in low supply areas.
