has he tried cleaning out his windows cookie folder and signing back in?
Sometimes the cookie files can cause an ID to be blocked...though usually once you sign out and sign back in it corrects itself.

If he has Popup killer softrware, it is best to disable it for Matrix forum - if you have something like PanicWare, you can enter the URL's you agree to use popups. (One click addition to the "OK" list.)
I was a little dubious about spending thirty bucks for a piece of software which ought by all rights to be free. After using it for a few days, I think on balance its worth the money. Good software is not always cheap or free. Flawless operatoin, integrates with IE 6.0 browser, lives in the topside toolbar. Great satisfaction in the sound events: When it kills a popup - in the background of course - I get a burst of machine gun fire.
Call me immature, go ahead, I love it! BTw, no drag on memory, the app does not load into memory as you see in Msconfig.exe - I think it is a DLL of sorts which integrates completely with IE 6. Good stuff, am pretty sure I will never be without the Panicware Popup Killer.
Note: The fellow with th problem should also look at Msconfi.exe to see what is loading at boot time. There are some AVP programs which will interfere with operation of the OS and your browser.
