If you could have any AFV from WW II as a lawn orniment in front of your home/condo or apt building, which one would you want?

Umm.. I'd settle for a Brummbaer..

I could use the inside as a toolshed annex mushroom cave. I'd make a nice fountain springing forth from it's barrel too.

a 105mm howitzer aimed right at the driveway. We don't need no steenkin' flowers.

I think a .....Sherman .

I'd put the "big katz" in my yard to scare away thieves....... and shermans. Panther G and a King Tiger would make wonderful yard statues.

For the lawn, I think an M3 half-track would make a great clubhouse for the kids...

But for the driveway I think a Puma would make those morning commutes much more fun.

If you put a sherman in your yard you could barbeque for the neighborhood on it.:p

I only have a 3-man porch, a hedge in front of it, and a 1-foot strip of grass in front of that.

Heheh yep. And use the four barrels as support for ivy and other climbing plants. :rolleyes: :p

Stove from a GP medium.(I could see if they blow up everday when loaded with flowers,like they do when you use them)..

Well, if you did have a lawn big enough, what would you have?

My apt building has about the same 'lawn' in front as your place. If I had a lawn big enough, I think I'd like a Greyhound AC.

I remember reading about someone in California who fixed one up to rent out as a limo. It had carpeting, a stereo, and all the fixin's inside. Now that's what I'd want for a limo if and when I get married! :D

SdKfz 231 8-Rad. It would be on blocks, because I'd be trying to mount a modern engine in there. Well, and because I'm in the South.

I'm going to have to look far and wide for my ideal lawn ornament ... it has to be practical, decorative, and fit on my small lawn. After careful consideration, I have selected a strange combination - a Radschlepper Ost (you know... the goofy truck with the REALLY big wheels) with a 20mm Flakvierling mounted in the back! Why such a monstrosity? Well...

- Decorative: Such a goofy combo will elicit interest and awe in passers by, and cement my reputation as a WWII nut, and an all-around crackpot!

-Practicality (1): We get A LOT of snow here, and the local road clearing equipment usually places enourmous berms of it in front of my poor little 4cyl. work to home 'beater' car ... as alternative transport (with a new, modern supercharged motor) Radschlepper has RAMMMING power!

-Practicality (2): I am in the flightpath of my local airport .... a quad 20mm Flak in the front yard may change this !! (or at least make them nervous)

-Historical Significance: Obviously, it's the precursor to all modern Monster Trucks ... giving me lots of cred. in my Redneck neighbourhood! he he he ...

now i just have to find one ...
