Global Glory resources problem

As a preamble, I would like to say that I have been playing the Global Glory scenario for years, by email, without any problems. I am not a new player at all.

But today, after, perhaps, several "anomalies" reported since we have been playing on the server, I am starting to have some doubts.

After the Italian supply disappearing, the US war entry not increasing after German submarine attacks, I now have a doubt about the resources available for the allied player.

We are at the beginning of the game, autumn 1939. And the Allied player is short of resources compared to his production. Production possible, balance available 8, but balance limited to 6 because of lack of resources. This is impossible. Not at this stage of the game. I have never been short of resources with the Allies at the beginning of the game. Look at all production, then scotland an India, for exemple. 8 avaible production points, but only 6 resources :

Note that all my resource centers are connected. My ships cross the Atlantic from Canada to the UK, go all the way around Africa, to India and Ceylon, down to Australia and New Zealand.

The image below shows that :
All my resources are connected,
But I give 6 resources as a gift (To whom?)

Image

A turn on the map shows the available resource stocks at a total of 28 :
United Kingdom : 4
Canada: 7
Africa, including Madagascar: 4
Iraq: 1
India and Ceylon: 6
Australia + New Zealand: 6

The production table only starts from a total of 15.

Note that the available resource balance of 6 never moves, even if I remove my ships around Africa and India, creating many unconnected centers! This number of 6 should move.

What is going on?

Thank you!

I tried in a game against myself, this is what I should have in the fall of 1939: a resource level of 26, not 15! There is a problem.

I am in a game with the Allies and I've not noticed such shortage. But I've also not moved the starting Transport Ships.

The Submarine attacks not giving US progress to me it's only a 'welcome bug' as in general I feel that mechanic wrong and wonky - purely penalizing a 'battle for Atlantic' strategy.

Unsure if this will add in the support but I am playing both of you.

I also ran a few tests both on the current install I'm using, and on a clean install (1.040 updated to 1.052.1) and GG with no axis moves leaves the WA player with 24 resource points at the end of turn 1.

I do not believe there are many other players in general.

I got a friend to undust this game but I suspect he won't play more than 1 game at once.

I will check my game version, maybe if we are playing with different versions it could do some problems.

I've downloaded the patch from the Download site - so that's it.
I've not taken any patch from forums or the like!

The -6 resources in the US box is them giving Japan 6 resources. They get this until the oil embargo. Play Japan and take note of the +6 they get until around mid 1941. In Deluxe I have it set to expire Summer 41. GG may be different but can't be by much.

Sub attacks are working normal for me. They do bump US WR. But then again, I've only been playing solo, so perhaps it manifests when using the new online multiplayer system.

The only "welcome bug" that I have enjoyed while playing solo as Axis is to take out Allied transports using surface ships or air and never have it trigger a WR bump. The WR bump was only ever designed to trigger if Uboats did the sinking. I suppose one could argue to change that to all forms of sinking, but in the end it would have little effect on the game.

Thanks for the information ! Unfortunatly It doesn't solve the problem of the overall production level at 15.

Was it solved? Or, is it still in .58 patch?

Just to be sure on the US war entry not increasing after German submarine attacks, do you see this ONLY when playing a server game of Global Glory? Did you try with Total War scenario as well?

I would add to the list Rumania that is usually not joining the Axis side.

I've emailed Karl to take a look at the resource issue. As for the subs, isn't that a random chance that it will change War Readiness? Can't imagine how it would be different in MP versus normal play.

I think the reduced resources pointed out in the pics above is working as designed. That would be the NMRC kicking in to reduce Western Allied stockpiling of resources before the war really gets going. As the years go on the NMRC is reduced. This is meant to model resources shifting from consumer use before war gets hot to a war time footing of rationing for the public. So in my opinion its WAD.

But boudi seems to say there is a difference between PBEM and single player:

I tried to find your game on the server, but the only one you are in was finished. Where can I find the game with the indicated amount of lower resources? Karl said he said up tests of both Total War and Global Glory, both on Server and Standard games, and the resources matched. Without more info we can't confirm there is a problem with this.
