We need more intel - part one

All right, so each time I am seeing this window, I would like variants in this message:
Unknown Ships in Area
This is always this message whatever the reconnaissance level.
Could you please give us more intel?
- Reconnaissance very low and low for the given hex: Unknown Ships in Area
- Reconnaissance medium for the given hex: A group of X surface ships (or subs) in Area
- Reconnaissance high and very high for the given hex: A group of X surface ships with 2 CV, 1 BB grp in Area

It already does it based on the detection level and the fleets spotted level

I would be interested to see a screenshot of this because except unknown, I don't see anything else.
When a fleet is coming and leaving on the same turn, hard to see who it was.
How do you improve the fleet spotting level ?

Understand that while the hexes are linear in distance spotting an enemy fleet becomes more difficult the further out you go due to the exponential increase in the area covered. Then the plane spotting can make a mistake identifying the target.

Well, this hex 99, 30 is reconnaissance
medium for Japan. This hex is also reconnaissance medium for USA.
I am moving US ships there, a failed interception and "
Unknown Ships in Area".

Just to add on this topic, moving subs to perform port supply interdiction on enemy islands, sometimes I am discovering ships in port. But, even staying several turns around the same location, I never have more intel than
Unknown Ships in Area.
These guys are not curious. I would be happy to sometimes see that a BB or a CVL has been spotted in the port by subs.

Sounds like a good idea to be able to see them but I have to think about the balance of this. Like is it worth sacrificing a 1 strength sub to know the enemy position?

I have discovered something. A sub here by default has "
Unknown Ships in Area". But doing an attack and having the message "
Enemy fleet spotted", I have now "
1 Ship in Area".

Perform a second attack and having again the message "
Enemy fleet spotted", I have now "
1 Ship in Area with a Destroyer Grp".
So, it works only by doing a naval attack. But since naval attacks are forbidden on port level 5 or higher, it won't work everywhere.

And it probably should not...
The higher level ports have protection...shore batteries, mine fields, more recon to keep out prying eyes.

You are probably right. But a sub can monitor ships coming in.

And they can get sunk just by doing so...
I suppose could be added that ships going to port could spot a sub and attack them?
Seems like we might be getting to complex for something like that.
Since subs down lose efficiency they could sit there indefinitely and spot. Even out of fuel I bet they still spot.

Funny to see that when subs are in port, my sub is detecting immediately that there are no ships...
