it's very weird...
periodically - when I go to type something in - say a ship name - I hold shift + type a letter - but It just ignores me. I have to try over & over & over.

Similarly - sometimes shift+arrows or ctrl+arrows work, sometimes it ignores me. Again - in context of editing a string someplace in-game.

This doesn't seem to happen when typing ordinary lowercase letters - it's always (so far) when using a modifier key - such as SHIFT or CTRL etc.

Also note that I didn't experience this issue in previous builds.

i noticed that too several times that the game doesnt do uppercase letters when i try to change the name in the ship designer.
i have to spam uppercase/lowercase a bunch till the game picks up and does uppercase letters again.
i havent found a 100% way to make the game do uppercase letters again... always have to type random stuff till it works again.

Exactly my experience as well.

Same here. It's kind of annoying.

Confirmed that this is in 1.0.5.0 and 1.0.5.1.

I think that while shift is pressed, it suppresses all other keys on the keyboard as far as the game is concerned. The second I let off the shift, it sees my keypresses (same for ctrl). It's just that it cannot handle the combination -- intermittently but often enough I would think to trivially repro.

Glad to read it's not me becoming to old to type...

+1, also annoyed by it, it's a small QoL issue, but with it fixed players would get less irritated with the game
