TOE Upgrades, Esp. Heavy PZ II - anyway to ensure they happen?

Summer 43 I have nearly 200 Tigers in the pool but the heavy Battalions refuse upgrade that are on the map - is there anything to help? Similar issue with GD XX ( and other PZG XX I think it took over 2 months after the TOE upgrade to do its work on map for GD. Should units due upgrade be in TB or NR?? I find TB are better NR seem to hinder units despite that being contrary to the rules which suggests NR is Elizium. S urely NR should be better than TB

I can quite understand if there is not enough in the pool but its not the case I have nearly 200 Tigers in the pool !!

What about attaching to OKH is that any good?

Guidance please... and tks.

Frequently works for me in my current campaign, bringing any support unit to OKH and setting it to refit usually very quickly gets it to 100% current TOE.

Reserve usually works well as long as not too many other units on the map are on refit, but once you start to refit a lot of units on the map Reserve is usually de-prioritized by replacement routines.

For the division strength units like GD they will probably not be at 100% toe for the rest of the war unless parked at a depot far behind the lines for a while on refit or in Reserve with few on map units being on refit at the same time. Basically not going to be worth it most of the time.

for TOE upgrades, i believe the only two factors you can control are 1) setting the unit to refit, and 2) sending a unit to the strategic reserve. A unit on refit in the strategic reserve is guaranteed to upgrade TOEs, so that's the best option if you can afford to pull the unit for a few turns. For other theater boxes, I'm not really sure, but they might work the same as the strategic reserve? This isn't terribly unrealistic, as the germans frequently sent units west to refit, even after the Normandy landings. i suppose the strategic reserve in this case is more valuable if you're playing with theater boxes restricted.

Thanks I found using NR is best but TB work just as well - would expect that those places would be the last to get new stuff esp. Tigers and so on unless they are active from a ground combat POV. NR seems less effective then TB I am finding- seems wrong as it says in the rules NR overrides everything. Refit has no effect I see. Agree it should.

Things like PZG from Mot conversions are really slow on map almost non events- some are months over due.I think this maybe linked to a bug mentioned in another post being fixed in the next patch??

That is ToE change logic working as designed.

On map, you have a 20% + 5% (per month of new ToE existing) to change ToEs every turn. If you set a unit to refit, the base chance rises to 50%. But in the national reserve, you are guaranteed to update your ToE if you set a unit to refit.

Could it be a side effect of this if your units are damaged?

Not sure if the game repairs units before allowing a TO&E upgrade.
