Most of you will likely already have .NET 6 installed, however, if you're prompted to install .NET 6 by the game upon first run, to ensure you get the right .NET Desktop runtime, here are some additional details.

Make sure you select the
Download x64 button under Run desktop apps.
You can also go straight to the right download by clicking this link.
Below is a detailed preview of the page it refers you to with some additional markup.

This does not apply anymore, the game is on .Net 7 and it's included, no installation necessary.
It would be huge if all these useless outdated stickied threads could be cleaned up, maybe consolidate some into a single topic, would really help the forum legibility.

The necro post does have a valid point, though. Most of the posts that are pinned in the DW2 forum are not really relevant any longer and the forum would look a lot cleaner and better maintained if they were unpinned.
The current beta thread, latest official version thread, roadmap, and key resources like Scott's guide are all good pinned info. But 18+ month-old pre-release streams and AMA threads, and outdated technical threads like this one, really just gum up the top of the forum and make it look like it is much less active (or at least moderated) than it actually is.
No big deal either way, but consider this a +1 for giving the pinned topics a relevance pass.
