Hey, multi-day scenarios, I'm looking at you.

I don't, but I do wish I had a job that would support being able to do that.

The more I think about it, the more Command is probably one of the absolute perfect games to play via a program like that. Latency is the number one concern and it would most other games not very enjoyable or even very playable for that matter depending on the title.

It would sure make the day go fast, plus at first glance from anyone walking by it does not scream game, maybe you're just planning your next vacation on the map, or just turn on the relief map and say you're doing some geographical research. The possibilities are endless.

It does lend itself to that kind of 'play'. More a low-level monitoring of slower paced scenarios.

Call me a masochist but I don't use time acceleration unless the scenario has clearly concluded and I am just running down the clock.

Are you saying you basically let scenarios regardless of length, lets say 12 hours or more run in real time?

Currently 12 hours into a 4-day scenario, so yes. I find the time compression kills the tension and immersion IMHO.

I have a second laptop for playing CMO at work.

Now you know how a doctor spend his time when there's no patient. (I'm not a physician or general pratictioner, just a lowly pathologist.)

Before I have my pair of X1 yoga gen 3, I use RealVNC to connect a thinkpad p50 at home to play CMO, it works well for me.

And about time compression, not all computers handle them well. Mine are always at the lower end of the spectrum so all I can do is realtime. When my computer was sufficiently slow, I "play" when I sleep.

And what "realtime" means to me is about 0.1~0.05x of REALTIME...
