Rail Line Mod

This is a simple graphic mod to try and make it a little easier to differentiate between roads and rail on the map (although they often overlap).

Download the rail sprite PNG files below to somewhere convenient on you computer and then place them in your Strategic Command Civil War main directory in the folder called Bitmaps. (To download just right-click on them and Save Image As..) They will of course, overwrite and obliterate the previous occupants of the Bitmap folder with those names, so back those files up first if you choose. Have a great trip and thank you for choosing the train.

Thank you for creating this excellent mod, really makes the rail lines much more visible on the map. :D

Excellent mod, thank you. Seeing the tracks was something my old eyes were struggling with.

Many thanks for doing this. If you could also make the "dirt" between the road lines white (or perhaps bright yellow), that would greatly help me to see where they are. I'm legally blind, but still try hard to play these sorts of games.

No problem von Beanie. These look like the shining path road system to me, but they might be perfect for you. Place the road sprite PNG files attached below in the same directory folder as the rail ones above. Cheers.

I have copied both files in the mod, but the problem appears whenever I zoom out. I am getting crashes to desktop whenever I zoom out.

I receive the following error message: https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/ ... 3b3f68b11b&

Can anyone please help me?

Try replacing the roads_sprites_zoom file with this one. I think the original might have been a few pixels too wide.

Roger

EDIT: No crash! Thank you so much. Can I resize the original? :-)

No. I'd just get rid of the original road zoom file I posted in 2022. If you have any more issues maybe just retrieve the zoom art file that came with the game. The Strategic Command game program tends to very sensitive to when art is even a teenie bit out of frame and usually responds with a segmentation violation flag followed promptly by a crash. I don't think resizing alone would fit their parameters.
