Does anyone know the hard rules in game for which bases can allow equipping of drop tanks to acft that can have them, and which can’t? I have seen inconsistencies in how the game allows drop tanks at some bases and not at others. What’s the actual requirements for it?

Also some variants of the same aircraft design were incapable of using for tanks. An example is the P40. The B and C variants couldn't use drop tanks while all of the later variants could.

And some aircraft models do not get drop tanks until later. The USN F4F series get them in October 1942, etc.

A follow on question,

I have a well supplied base with 3 squadrons that can use drop tanks. Why would one of the three have the option showing as unavailable? Thanks, Steve.

Game date, aircraft models.

April 13th,1942. p-40e p-39d and p-38e. I guess I answered my own question, the aircraft database shows the p38e not available until May so although this squadron arrived early it wont allow use of drop tanks until May?
