I De-Installed Strategic Command World at War from Steam about a year ago, now I re-installed it from my Steam account, it starts without any problems and I can play one turn, I can also save, but when I try to go to the next turn when it gets to the supply phase between turns I get an Error
FAILED(Store): Permission denied
This Error also freezes the PC, I can only get out using the Task Manager
I have de-installed and re-installed several times but nothing changes

I also tried running as administrator, it had no effect.

The game saves files to your Documents user folder, and likely your Anti-Virus software is protecting and thus blocking this folder.
Typically this folder can be found here, replacing <username> with your username on your PC:
\Users\<username>\Documents\My Games\Strategic Command WWII - World at War
If you whitelist this folder with your AV software this should resolve the issue for you,
Hubert

Hi Hubert thanks for the quick reply. I tried what you suggested but nothing changed I then completely shut down my Anti-Virus and still got the same Error.

I tried something else since I actually have 2 copies of this game one on steam and one on GOG, not sure why I have it twice, must be a good game. I de-installed on Steam and installed on GOG but when I try to run it I get a different Error: Failed(video_mode_dialog:setup_mode-dialog): Permission denied. This is really strange since I am not having any problems with any other games or programs.

I finally got it running. I manually deleted all remaining game files created by the steam version and then ran the GOG version it took a few seconds to re-syncronize and now runs fine. Apparently a Steam problem. Thanks for your help.
