Legacy Radar Stealth Issue

I have run into what might be a significant bug. Stealth aircraft do not appear to be stealthy. I've tested both the F-117 (1990) and B-2 (2001) and both are detected by Tall King A, Big Back, and Spoon Rest D radars at a range of approximately 100nm.

It appears that legacy Soviet radars are overperforming.

Has anyone else run into this? I am running v1265.1 and the database is DB3000 v495.

I have attached a save file to show the F-117s are being detected by the aforementioned radars at around 83nm. Not the max I listed earlier, but still definitely a problem.

Those old radars do have some superpower to detect "stealth" aircrafts, which is optimized for deflecting short wavelength radio waves from fire control radars, like Fan Song or Square Pair, but not for longer wavelength used by old surveillance radars like Tall King.

PLA's 052D destroyer still bring something that looks like a Spoon Rest these days for this purpose. Newer stuff like Nebo-M by Russian also work in this radio band.

You could try to shoot SA-2s and -5s at the F-117s and find out the fire control radars do have difficulty dealing with them.

I would think the test is a B-2 and a B-52 flying parallel towards the radar. See how much of the difference it makes.

gennyo already gave a good explanation, I just wanna add that you can see the differences between the radar signatures of an aircraft for different radar bands in the database. The three radars you mentioned belong to the A-D band category, the second category is E-M. Here's the radar signature of the F-117.

Just for fun, for comparison, here's the B-52... :D

Using the newist B-52 and B-2 in database and a lone Soviet Tall King.

Just realized the first link is not correct.

I was trying to share this thread.

That sheet is a little dated. Several radars were updated as well as F-35. Recent model changes have definitely changed the weapons detection charts. I will update at some point.
