Hi

An observation regarding an OHP vessel being able to fire an SM-1 at a target behind the ship..

However, the db engagement arc is toward the front of the vessel only.

Using 1267.1 and original scenario database.

Hi,

If it's not a short-range shot then this is WAD; ships can fire missiles "over the shoulder" at non-short ranges (essentially a horizontally-curved trajectory) in order to get around masking restrictions. This, for example, was how HMS Gloucester shot down an inbound Iraqi HY-2 ASCM while covering for USS Missouri during Desert Storm.

The mount-arc limits are still in effect at short-range engagements, IIRC the threshold is 5 or 10nm.

Thanks Dimitris

I was able to replicate the weapon engagement as you explained it.
