Not tech supper per see, but I found a mistake (I think) in the manual here :

Sub Hunters – Naval fleets on a convoy hex icon and air units will protect all friendly convoys within a 24 hex radius, air range for air, by adding a bonus to any escorts protecting a convoy attack in that area. Air groups and carrier groups add a 2% bonus to convoy escort damage chances vs subs. Patrol groups add a 1% bonus to convoy escort damage chances vs subs within their radius of protection. Air groups must have the ASW advancement to give the bonus.

It seems to have been taken directly from Warplan where "patrol group" actually means destroyers/light cruisers that do give 1%. But in WarPlan Pacific, Patrol groups are unique vessels no existing in WarPlan Europe. So I think it should be change in the text (see underlined) to "Destroyer". Actually wording could easily lead new players astray (especially if they do not have WarPlan Europe).

Is it destroyer i.e. on map DD fleet or is it escort ships?

Its for the on map sub hunter rule.

In WarPlan Pacific manual, it should read that CV groups add 2% and Destroyers group add 1% (on map within 24 hexes).

But the actual wording is CVs and Patrol groups as it was cut-pasted from WarPlan Europe. However the Patrol Groups from WarPlan are Named Destroyed Groups in Warplan Pacific (as Patrol groups in WPP are MBTs etc.).
