Question - fuel supply

I have a question about fuel. My mechanized and tank forces always seem to be short of it and the SHQ note says that it is not available to SHQ when I check unit supply. I do usually have a surplus according to SHQ and a balance of 1000 or more all the time. I have really built up my logistics and food, ammo, etc usually seem to be good. It has got so frustrating that I have been limiting my offensives to mostly infantry attacks. Even my tanks with electric engines seem to be strangled. Am I missing something? I thought you only needed a logistic connection along the roads to ship fuel to the front. My blitzkriegs are totally stalled!!

You need to have enough fuel at the end of turn. What you got from zones on the turn start can only be used for supplies next turn.

1000 is not a lot for large-scale mechanized warfare, a single light armor brigade can drink that. Supply is first sent from SHQ and fresh production is only then delivered, so having some in the SHQ at the start of turn doesn't mean you had enough. You can check under Stats -> Logistical (right side of the top bar) to see how much fuel your units are missing.

In addition, the SHQ can only send out as many resources as it can store, and this can be particularly problematic with electricity since it has a low storage cap. The SHQ and assets in zones also compete for the same pool of item storage, so it's very possible to overbuild your economy past the point that your electricity storage can support. This can be resolved by researching and building Power Banks.
