Editor woes. It ate my convoy routes. Help!

Many hours into modding a new campaign, the editor wanted to update scripts. I was editing combat data so there shouldn't have been a need to update scripts. Brain dulled by fatigue, I foolishly agreed and voila, all convoy routes on the map are gone. This situation occurred before so I should have known better.
Not for nuthin, but having the map open to "draw" as default has disaster written all over it. More than once I've inadvertently added a terrain feature with an errant mouse click intended for the data window. Too late I've just discovered I can contract the window size with F3.
I'm hoping I just hit a setting and all can be returned to normal. Any help greatly appreciated.
Thanks,

Simply need to find the convoy.txt file from the Scripts/Events folder (use the default one) and put it back into your modded folder.

Thanks SittingDuck. Alas, your solution didn't have the desired result. Perhaps I bumped another setting on the map without realizing it and the damage was greater than anticipated.
No worries. I went back and ground away to redo my lost work. Went much faster this time.
This disagreeable affair has prompted me to educate myself about how convoys work, and to start a list/Wiki of "best practices" for using the editor. I'll start a separate thread for that list but the first two that spring to mind are:
1. Save copies at regular intervals. Version control man!
2. Set View Mode (F3) to the minimum (1024 x 768). That way the data entry window covers the map window entirely. Prevents inadvertent map 'edits' and allows desktop access for spreadsheets etc.
Cheers,

Hi epower
The convoy routes won't appear on the map if the campaign has had changes to most layers prior to being saved (weather, unit and symbol are off hand the only exceptions).
If after you then Update the scripts, the convoy still won't appear if there is an error, e.g. if the script is looking for a port that isn't there, or is having to sail via land when it should be sailing through the sea.
The best thing to do when this happens is to go to where you Update the scripts, select Convoy, press the Update button and then if there is an error it will indicate at which line in the script file the relevant script starts, and it will also indicate the reason.
PS There's nothing you can do within the Editor that would erase any scripts from the Convoy script file, apart from editing the file directly.

Thanks Bill, for the response and explanation. I'll see if I can make the routes vanish again and then make them reappear. #funwitheditor.
All part of the learning process. I appreciate the way you and Hubert are still providing support for the game.
Best Regards,
