How do multi-mission aircraft allocations work?

I see that you can allocate aircraft to more than one mission, and they are supposed to somehow be allocated dynamically to them but I don't know how that happens. When I tried it, it didn't seem to do anything so I assume I just hadn't configured it correctly.
If I allocate aircraft to a mission manually in the air operations screen of a base, they will then fly that mission. If I have them allocated to several missions in the mission editor then I can see that those missions are listed in the panel on the right but they only seem to fly the specific mission allocated in the ops screen.
Is there any documentation for this feature yet, or another thread talking about it I've missed?

@hrfepo1 what is the difference between hanging on and subscribing to a thread?

Frankly, I have no idea. I don’t navigate in forums well. All I know is that posting a response will assure I get notified when someone else answers.

I have edited the pro manual of the amphibious operation planner so you'll have everything you need here.
There is a quickstart scenario as well that can be used as a template.
The scenario attached in the zip ("operation planner priority test") is another example.
WARNING : the latter is built upon a dev build that addressed a few issues and limitations. In this scenario mission priorities would be messed-up with your current version, you will probably need to invert the priority values.
PS : Also note that the terms "Dynamic unit" and "Multi-mission unit" refer to the same concept. This will be cleared in a future version.
This means that your question is answered in the chapter "Understanding the concept of dynamic
units" of the manual.

Cheers Hrfepo.
Also, anyone trying this feature should feel free to post feedback about it even if that means bashing the UI implementation.
While multi-mission opens quite a lot of possibilities, especially for AI, it might be hard to comprehend and may even clutter the mission editor for some.
Operation planner and multi-mission haven't yet matured and I think with enough effort on UI and quality of life improvement we can make these accessible, so any first user "naive" feedbacks, from expert and non-expert players is very much welcomed.

I will let you know my thoughts after I use it a few times. The potential is awesome! Thank you again!

I was trying out multi mission for the first time. I was trying to get the A-A fighter escorts of a strike mission to reassign to a Combat Air Patrol mission when the strike mission finishes. They failed to be assigned to any mission. Does the operations planner work with escorts?

Thanks very much - appreciate it. I'll give it a try now.
