US Air Combat TF penalties for more than one CV

I heard somewhere that US TF are penalised if they contain more than one carrier up to a certain date at which point the penalty ceases reflecting them not having trained to operate cooperatively in the early part of the war.

What are the penalties, and when do they cease?

Any help appreciated

Manual pages 166/167.

There are randoms involved, and the effect never really ceases.

Basically if the number of aircraft per TF is greater than 100-200 in 1942, 150-300 in 1943, 200-400 in 1944 and later, then there is a chance that the penalty occurs.

Means with 2 CVs per TF in 1942 - about 180 aircraft - the penalty is likely to happen, with three CV - about 270 aircraft - it surely will happen.

Note that it is offensive strike coordination penalty. I have not been too concerned about it, usually.

Your defensive capabilities (CAP) is not affected by this.
