PBEM CAMPAIGN - NO END - April 44.

My opponent has just got a Polish Corps - I am still deep inside Russia hold Kharkov , Kursk etc.

surely this is not right, he is a 1000 miles from the Polish border.

Lenino does not appear in the map.

The Russian Army in WW1 had a Czechoslovak Legion while pretty far from the Slovak border. These types of units hinge on the politics around recruiting POWs, which don't depend entirely on where the front line is at the moment. A lot of Poles were removed into the interior of the Soviet Union after Stalin occupied half of Poland in '39.

latest patch - I will send a screen, it says in the manual that it happens when a substantial gain is made in Poland ( fair enough) and I would expect it to appear in Poland as well . Its appeared in Leningrad according to my opponent - thats silly. It must be a bug. BUT I do see as pointed out above wiki says they had some Divisions prior - so it needs looking into.

No, it’s true. They appeared in Leningrad. I suspect it was brought on by the imminent collapse of the Germans in our game. Also by the quality of the Russian campaign to date. (Actually, I was surprised. I thought the event required Russian forces in Poland).

There are two sets of Polish forces for the Soviets. One is a scripted reinforcement, as K62 says recruited from Poles in the USSR. Many were members of the pre-war Polish Communist Party. The second is conditional, keyed to Lublin (if I recall), they appear and then are frozen for some time. These were mostly PoWs, conscripted from Soviet occupied Poland etc. The reason for the long delay was the Soviets didn't trust them and they were the focus of a long period of ideological indoctrination as much as military training.

1st army arrival is scheduled to turn 146.

2nd army arrival is by event after controlling Brest or Bialystock with a delay of 26 turns.

The location for both armies in the editor is 0,0. So the National Reserve.

It is not Leningrad, is it? Your opponent chose that.

I am the Russian player. I did not choose where to put the arriving Polish 1st Army. It appeared in Leningrad, which is not a National Supply Source.

I forgot it was explained in WitW manual.

If arriving hexes are set to zeros in the editor, then the method described in section Set Reinforcement Entry Points, is used for that unit when it enters the game.

In small map scenarios, you can set up a reinforcement arrival point by creating a city with a population of zero. It must be given the nationality of the country that is
going to use that hex to bring in units. So if you have Italian units you want to bring in, you have to have a point that is hungarian nationality. you should name
these “cities” something like “German Reinforcement Arrival zone 1”. For the Axis, the computer always picks the north-western most city that is the same nationality
as the reinforcing unit, and then goes down the column and then moves back to the next most eastern column at the top. For the Allied it goes to the north-eastern most
city and then down the column and then moves west.

Not sure I understand the editor manual

In GC41 both Polish armies are set to arrive on map which then uses the standard reserve arrival hex. In StoB the 1st arrives to SR while the 2nd is still on map.
I'll discuss that with the scenario devs to get that better synced across scenarios.
