This plane looks like a tank killer with a 30mm cannon, and I think historical was employed as such. Otherwise it has a seeming low load of bombs as an alternative setting. I try and deploy it in tank battles with the 30mm.

I’m seem to be having lousy luck with it, having ever on seen one t60 kill in a battle with it.

Any thoughts on how to improve my efficiency in GS, which I set at 9000ft?

Tanks on top have thin armor on top, so the 30mm cannon is very effective against medium tanks like the T-34 as well.

Both the Hs 129 and Ju 87G do not really work well against tanks in WitE

In general, planes drop bombs, and there really is no practical use for the AT cannon in an air-to-ground role afaik.

Planes that had cannons were as a general rule of thumb awful in the anti-tank role.

Nevertheless, Il-2 attack aircraft actively attacked armored vehicles with cannons.

IL-2s are good at bombing, but in the game engine they use bombs and missiles, not cannons.

The effect of air to ground cannons and rockets on tanks is sort of an unknown. The claims of the pilots don't seem to match the results on the ground. Although Stalin did put a bounty on Rudel so maybe there is something to his 500+ tank claim. The consensus seems to be air to ground in WW2 was very effective at interdiction and exaggerated against individual tanks.
