Hi.. got this John Tillers Civil War recently and really enjoy it. Running Win 11 on an alienware laptop. I can save and open "btl" files for Antietam, Bull Run, Chickamauga, but it errors out on Shiloh & Gettysburg. Any idea why? I installed the update.

Your best bet would be to post your question on the WDS forum

I have Gettysburg but am running Win10 and don't have an issue. I would expect Win11 to work as well, but can't say.

Eh.. I can't register because it wants an answer to this question:

Ha! I figured it out. I guess a career in software development helped out. Here's what is happening:
When you launch a game, it starts out with the modal showing the 5 theaters to choose from.
Then when you choose a theater, you have a long scrolling list of battles. As you select one or the other going down the list, you'll see that the "module" can change (shown in a different textbox on the modal). So in the Gettysburg theater, it starts with McPherson's Ridge, then Gettysburg, then Little Round Top, etc...
Well, if you go to the folder structure for the game (for me it's "C:\Matrix Games\John Tiller's Battleground Civil War"), you will see a folder for each theater (Antietam, Bull Run, etc). Inside each theater folder you will see folders for each module. So for Gettysburg you'll see "MR" for McPherson's Ridge, "GB" for Gettysburg, etc....
So what is happening is that some of the saved "btl" files are being saved to the WRONG folder. I started a game that used the Gettysburg module and saved it. Then I found that file in the "MR" folder, which is for McPherson's Ridge. So I moved the "btl" file to the GB folder and I was able to open the saved game correctly.
It's all about the other files in each module folder that includes all the ".scn", ".map", etc.... files for each scenario.
Yay, now I can enjoy all 5 theaters.

Excellent! I almost forgot about the BG version of Gettysburg. I have it and JT's Campaign Series. I'm glad that you got it going though!
