Questions about Dev Logs info.

Hi,

First let me say that I'm really impressed with what I've seen in the Dev Logs for this game!

I do have a few questions though.....

1/ In FCRS I would often see additional unit/formation delays over and beyond that of the general delay displayed for the 2 sides. e.g. Nato delay is 20 minutes but many units/formations would show delays beyond the 20 minutes. These could not be attributed to traffic jams either. I never did figure out what these additional delays were the result of, nor how to rectify them. I see in Blog#2 that the unit displays in SS also have a box for "additional delays" . Will SS tell the player what is the cause of these?? Then maybe we will be able to take corrective action.

2/ One of my concerns was/is not being able to take a surviving unit with insufficient transport and load it on another unit with sufficient transport. Probably a coding nightmare, but does SS in any way address this??

3/ Another concern relates to dismounted units where the transports inevitably get involved in combat that should really only involve those dismounted units. Thats why we dismounted units in the first place right?

Anyhooo.... SS looks to be a winner :D

Rob,

Let me hit answers in reverse order.
#3 - Is you look at the SOP panel, there is a setting for transports and how they support the dismounts. The options are basically run and hide or support and shoot things.

#2 - The reality of battle in the 80s is if a unit becomes transport/combat ineffective from losses, it would set up as an observation post or work back to the rear to reconstitute. In terms of a scenario, this would be after the fight. In a campaign, this is the depot phase, when units get reconstituted for the next action.

#1 - The command cycle displayed is for the overall force and indicates when you, as the commander, can issue new orders to the troops. Units will have their delays based on HQ level and all of the soft factors and EW impacts they suffer.
