Hi Alvaro,

In this picture, you can see the Polish ZOC working as intended (+2).

However, in this picture, you can see that for the same terrain type and beside the same Polish unit, the ZOC does not seem to apply!

Yea I have seen some anomalies like that but haven't been able to trace them down.

I just did the same exact thing as the picture. I got 4 and 4.

I wonder if some data isn't clearing from the previous move.

I have retried many times with plenty of initial conditions. I did not reproduced. This is strange.

Another one just occurred if it helps. PBEM and latest patch. Soviet CAV has no ZOC in this particular hex (no battle occurred in hex).

Should it matter if the hex is already owned by Finland?

I don’t think so but for the code?

For the life of me I have no idea why it is doing this. I look at it about once a month to see if something pops in my head.

Like I resolved the intercept going to port this week because an idea popped in my head on how to work around the code. I couldn't believe I didn't see it earlier.

I wonder if it happens because in some cases the ZOC does not affect movement as it should (but the ZOC still exist) or in some cases the ZOC itself is cancelled? Effect would be the same, but cause might be different.

I have never been able to replicate it.

Does it happen in PBEM, computer opponent, or both?

Can not say against AI, do no remember. All occurrences I saw lately are in PBEM. And it is very random as in the same situation (start of game in Poland, same hex and enemy troop), it may or may not happen...

Maybe a curse?

I have had this problem on several occasions in many of my PBEM games. If you complete the move to the hex that shows the no ZOC cost the move is completed at the no ZOC cost. But I also found that if prior to actually moving that unit you move a different unit and then come back to that same unit that had displayed the ZOC error it would now show the correct cost. My opponent and I have a house rule that if you notice a unit is not going to pay the correct cost for ZOC to simply move another unit and then come back to that unit in question.

I have also noticed that when a units movement path shows this no ZOC cost that even moving that unit to a hex just short of the ZOC hex and then checking the movement path again will also correct the problem.

This helps. It might be a pathfinding array I forgot to clear when uploading one PBEM game then loading another.

Does it happen at the start of a game?

I have not noticed it happening every game turn but rather sporadically throughout a game.

Ok let me look into this. I haven't played PBEM in a while and test against the computer.

I have one PBEM game number 389010 me Axis against generalfdog.

Here is the situation. I unselect, reselect the unit, it is reproducible.

It takes 1 to enter this hex. This is normal.
