Hello all,

i´m not able to upgrade the Bf 109 E`s and the Bf 109 F-2 to the F-4...
In turn 10 ,i have over 100 F-4 in the pool, but i don`t know how to upgrade.

I can upgrade the E to another E, or to the F-2, but not to the F-4.

I did not mess that much with air stuff yet. But are you sure you have the BF109-F4 and not the BF110-F4 in stock? Additionally there exits a recon variant of the BF109-F4/R3.

The upgrade path seems to be BF109-F2 -> BF109-F4 (altough I have no idea wether you can skip/bypass upgrades).
Have you tried upgrading the F2 to the F4 variant?

There is a delay of one month before you can use new aircraft types

2-3 rounds later, I was able to change the air groups.

Also, I believe you can globally zap this to auto and the AI will do this. More for campaign than scenarios.

I wouldn’t recommend this. All your shiney new planes will go to the TBs and not where you want it (on map)

since all planes in TBs, except of reserve, are always set to auto upgrades

My airgroups are always set to auto-update, but I swap airgroups between map and theaters. I send air groups with new types of aircraft to the map, and with old ones to theaters. In addition, I send to theaters, if necessary, new aircraft with inexperienced crews.

You can avoid the auto upgrade by keeping the active pool low relative to production. 1-2 turns worth
