I started a hotseat 1943 scenario so I could run some tests for a PBEM game I'm in and I noticed something very wrong with the German's rail ability in the USSR. I couldn't rail any units to or from the eastern front. At first I thought this was due to partisan activity messing up the rail lines, but I parked a bunch of garrison units to insure I had a good route. It turns out German simply can't rail through the captured areas of the USSR, full stop. This of course would make this scenario completely unplayable for the Germans. As far as I could tell this is permanently this way.
It's also a little goofy because you can get partisans in Poland, but the borders between Poland and Germany aren't shown (It looks like Poland is a part of Germany), so it's difficult to know where the partisans will pop up.

Same issue here...very odd.

To be honest I have not really played the scenarios much...
I suspect there is a bug somewhere..since rail stops at the Russian border.

I have just checked with Europe 1942 scenario and it seems to work.

Looks like it is scenario related rather than engine related.

That resolved it...I can rail now.

What patch is that? I am playing a game 39 campaign and now in 1942 I cant rail in Russia. Unfortunately I dont remember if I used rail in 1941 I think I did and it worked then but not in 42 seems strange or?

I am sure but I think this is the incoming 1.00.19 patch and this in particular:

CHANGE countries that can't cooperate now may enter minor countries controlled but not home nation hexes

Sorry I am probably stupid but why now? It is the same patch 18,01 as my latest game and then it all worked fine. In 1941 rail did work I realise as I railed in lots of rumanian and italian and hungarian partisan hunters. Now in 1942 units cannot rail into Russia and units inside Russia cant rail in or out of Russia. Anyone have a clue .

No idea. I was thinking it was introduced by this other correction in patch 1.00.18:

FIXED Control and owner hexes correctly converting during out of supply control change which also fixes minor unit deployment bug

Was there ever a resolution to this?

I'm in a new '39 game and we hit the same problem once the Germans invaded in '41. It sounds like even restarting the game won't fix this though without a patch and there is no way to fix a game in progress?

Or did this get patched? I'm still running the Steam v1.00.181 version, not sure if that's the latest or not.
