Quick question about supplies and aircraft?

Ok read in the manual that aircraft rely on supplies naval units rely on fuel, I have a base I been holding off putting planes on that needed them for the longest time thinking I needed to get some fuel their for them first. I have a crap load of supplies at this base already. Is this all I need to get the planes flying, will they need fuel also?

If it was just supplies only my opponent will be pleased that I have been kicking my own *** over these months of fuel transport planning.

Thanks in advance:confused:

Hate to tell you

But planes just need supplies, not fuel, to fly. Well, they need aviation support and an airfield too....

aircraft also require maintainence crews represented in the game by Aviation Support points.

Dont have the manual handy (but i'm sure someone else does) so dont have the 'exact' equation on how many but for single engined beasties its roughly 1 point for 1 plane as a ratio.

Quickest method of course is to transfer the airgroups you want to the new base and then go to the main base screen and check under the supplies/supplies required heading. AS points are listed under than and will give you the exact # required to operate at full efficiency.

Note that aircraft 'can' operate under this minimum #, but with less efficiency the bigger your defecit is. (Planes will not all repair either in preportion to this)

Fuel only goes to ships.

Thanks for the reply, just the info I was looking for. Now if I can somehow get all those tankers sitting at the bottom of the ocean I can redeem myself.
