Total newb here-

I’ve been working on a mod by basically trying to “reverse engineer” the new dawn master file and I think I have a pretty good idea of what I’m doing but for the life of me I can not figure out how to change the graphic for political points or supply.

Can anyone point me to the place in the editor where that can be changed?

I think, and this is from memory, that you need to upload them to the Event Graphics in Stng, and then go into the Items, and there select the Political Points/Supplies and change a setting there if I remember correctly.

I thought the same thing. I’m actually using you’re Ancient Europe mod as a sort of cross reference. When I go to EventPics everything you have loaded there comes from the folder labeled EventPics. Your custom “Supply” and “Politics” graphics are in STFPicsSpecial. I found some of those graphics in landscape types under different default names. I was thinking it may have something to do with the option in Setng to overrule SystemGfx? Anyway, I’m stumped.

After some trial and error, I think what I don’t understand is how to set a graphic- which is under SFType- to a resource- which is set to IsSFType# -1.

For example, Oil (Synthetic) is set to IsSFT# -1 but somehow is linked up to the SFT “Fuel Picture” which is SFT# 143

I’m just not sure how these two fit together.

Alright. I'll look into it, later, and give a detailed answer :) I remember being frustrated too initially.

Ok, I was a little confused at first, as to how I did it in Ancient Europe, but this is how:

First I went into the SFT menu, and there I made a new SFT. This is a dummy SFT. Meaning that you won't be placing on the map, any time, as a unit. The I click the Graphics Property sheet (1 on the graphic below) and then I change the Graphic symbol (2 on the graphic below). I navigate to the picture I want to use (remember to have it in the /graphics/ folder or a subfolder of it.

With this done, I then go to the Item menu, and here I select the Supply Item. I go down to the bottom of the selection list, and there select the SFT I used for the picture (or maybe I type in the number, I must admit I did not test this part). See 3 on the graphic below.

And you can do the same for Political Points.

Thank you, you just solved a MAJOR headache. I'm playing the game on a netbook at work (don't tell anyone lol) and the monitor display is 1366 x 768. Game runs fine, but in the editor apparently it cuts off the bottom by just a little. Never would have found the UseSFTGraphic option because it wasn't there :D Going to adjust the display and see what happens. Thanks again!
