I just noticed that on the purchase page that there is a currency selection drop down. Was that always there? It solves my problem. Stupid me for not noticing. Please disregard my previous complaints below:

FCSS has been out for a while now. When it came out the Japanese Yen/USD exchange rate was around 145 Yen per Dollar. Now a few weeks later the Yen rate is now 136 Yen per Dollar but the Japanese price of this game still reflects an exchange rate of 145 yen per Dollar. 8699Yen / 60USD = 144.983

Why?

Can't Matrix/Slitherine use the proper exchange rate. I won't buy any more games from Matrix/Slitherine until they start using proper exchange rates. Or at least let me purchase the game is USD and I'll let my credit card or Paypal do the exchange at the proper exchange rate.

I bought the game in £GBP and paypal applied the correct exchange rate which was actually different from the price listed in £GBP on Matrix' website.

Have you actually tried to buy it through paypal to see if it does convert properly?
