Let us rename formations (or at least make notes on them)

As I play games, I find myself wanting to change the purpose of specific units to be for specific tasks. In particular, the air groups are awful for this - I don't know Russian or German air group name abbreviations from the 1940s, so I just see a lot of JGs and SADs and other such acronyms that are completely incomprehensible to me.
But as I change a unit to do a specific task, I want to be able to remember that when I get around to doing something with it on the next turn (which can easily be many days later), and right now I have no good way to track that. In a game like Hearts of Iron, I'd just rename the unit as a memory aid, and I've often found that to be very convenient. But in WitE, I can't do that.
I recall seeing something years ago saying that specific unit names played a role in the AI code. If that's the case, I know you're a small company, so you might not have the resources to fix that particular bit of ugly hard-coding. (I've been there myself before - it's not good, but it sometimes happens anyway.) But hopefully, adding a notes field onto units could be a substitute. The UI is generally pretty spacious, so there's room for it. and it'd let me do most of the tasks I want to do with a renaming function. It'd even be better for a few things.
Thanks.
