Hi, when I switch between windows to say, look up something in the manual and click back in the game, I get a weird green blur over stats and numbers. I save prior and reload.

Is there any advice for how to switch between the game and other programs without this issue?

Sounds to me like your desktop resolution and your game resolution are not the same. Changing to the manual probably cancels the switch settings you have in your shortcut to the game, so the graphics no longer work well when you switch back. Restarting is the only option unless you play the game in a smaller window and have the manual open alongside it. My best guess- I have no tech credentials.

The game has always done that for me when playing in full screen. Use a window with the px/py or pxf/pyf and -w switches.

I use these setting (-pxf1900 -pyf1000 -cpu4 -SingleCpuOrders -dd_sw -altFont -multiaudio -deepColor -skipVideo -archive -w) on my 1920x10800 res display

I have the exact same problem. I had played several years ago and with switch changes, it ran fine. I eventually removed it from my SSD for another game. But in trying to re-install it, even with the same switches I used in the past, I get the same green blocks instead of texts. Very frustrating.

Try installing it using SeaBee.
