Bought Game a few days ago and OMG! What an Amazing Achievement!!

I had been looking at this game being developed for years, and was a big East front fan. I had never really enjoyed a Viet-Nam computer game, but not because of the era but just because I think it is hard to do and its never really been done that well on a computer IMO-- so I was not sure what to expect.
When I saw the game did not ship with a true campaign like I had been hoping it would I was a little disappointed because there are almost no computer war games I have enjoyed w/o some sort of campaign structure. The lack of a true campaign caused me not buy the game at first and instead I decided to hold off and see if a campaign DLC would be released or maybe just wait for the remake of Eastfont (if that is truly ever coming).
But wow, after playing about 20 hours I am really blown away and totally impressed by the detail and work that has gone into making this engine into such an immersive and enveloping experience. It really brought me back to my days of playing C64 games in my room as a kid as time just melted away. The way stories, civilians, variable objectives etc have been woven into the scenarios makes me not really care so much that there is not a campaign, because it actually feels sort of as if there is one with how much detail has been put into creating each one of the scenarios I have played so far.
Of course a campaign structure on top of all of this would be absolutely incredible, but anybody who may not be buying because there is currently not one, I can tell you that as a person who almost never buys or enjoys games w/o campaigns I truly am enjoying this game just as much as any game I have over the last 10 to 20 years even-- so if that is a reason you might be holding off, I suggest just buying the game, it really is great....
I have only played 20 hours of course since I just got it, and I am building up to being able to handle one of the 'Weeks in.." 420 turn scenarios, and I look forward to doing so very much. The creators of this game should be very proud; it is obvious they have put in an immense amount of hard and detailed work into this project. I really hope it pays off and that they are able to continue to create more content both for this game and/or perhaps for an Eastfront type sequel ..whatever it is, I will certainly be paying attention because it is obvious to me now they do tremendous work.
