New Strike Planner

So... I just found out about the new strike planner but one of the biggest problems I've seen in the old one is that when you give a strike package multiple targets, they will, by default, focus on one of the targets causing massive amounts of waste in ordnance and fuel expenditure. Is there any way to prevent this with the new planner?

You can use WRA to adjust ordnance on on target by using the number of weapons and firing units.
Most weapons default to "Use Missile Defense Value" for the number of ordnance. Adjust that to a lower number. If you really want to make sure that only a certain number of units fire at a target, also adjust the number of firing units.
You can also just set up multiple strike missions. I usually setup a strike mission for each type of target, then use WRA to further refine the number of weapons on target.

Have you tried in Mission settings / Attack Method and independent aiming?

Okay, so the problem with the problem I described was that aircraft would have their AAR doctrine set to "never refuel" when going towards a target that was within range as well as needing to be babysat whenever their target got killed aircraft would often go home with ordnance still on board despite having a tanker right next to them and targets would often survive despite having more than enough dumb bombs to eradicate them but both the AAR reset and the aircraft not knowing what to do when their current target is destroyed were fixed.

This has been my general go to system as well.

There is still a big problem with this method, as far as I can see. I might be wrong and overlook things, please let me know.
In a strikemission I have weapons set to 1 shooter/target, all AC in a flight will still prioritize on the same target and they won't attack another target untill the prio target is destroyed. So while the first AC drops bombs the 2nd might fly over target, making itself a target for AA.
I'd rather have all AC in a flight attack different targets and maybe have another flight do the mopup.

I have never really had any issues planning strikes this way. The only hiccup I had was with rockets which I found I had to set WRA to "do not use in self-defense" otherwise the entire flight dumped everything on one target. You might want to post a save so the devs can have a look.
