Supply bug 5.00.00.10

I can not find any way the GE GARR can be supplied. Supply doesnt reach Tehran, the HQ cannot send a basic supply (and is itself OOS), he cannot get it by sea.

Tehran is Ge controlled and is a secondary supply source which may be tracing a RR route to a primary source. The rail hexes are free in such a case and can be connected to other rail hexes by going over as many as two intervening non-rail hexes (in clear weather), leaving one more to go overseas to a port, then to the primary source.

So it could be tracing to the south railway.

But wouldn't the HQ be in supply by the same southern route? Looks to me like the HQ has fewer non-railroad hexes by that route.

Yes I agree. The OP asked about the Ge Garr and I was focused on it. If the Garr is in supply then the HQ should be as well.

...and yet the two German land units to the NW are shown as in supply...

Maybe there's more going on than what we are seeing in the picture.

You are both right, i was used to HQs tracing up to 4 hexes away, and didn't realise minor capitals not only can get supply when a RR reachs them but also can trace. They can, can't they?
Supply paths
You trace a supply path from a unit to a primary supply source.
If you are tracing a path from a secondary supply source to a primary supply source, it is a railway supply path.
If you are tracing any other supply path, it is a basic supply path.
A supply path, basic or railway, can be up to 4 hexes. Each Asian or Pacific (AfA/AiF/AsA Option 1: or African, American or Scandinavian) map hex you trace into counts as 2 hexes. Each off-map hex counts as 4 hexes, so you can only trace a basic supply path into an adjacent hex during clear weather.
I didnt care too much on why the HQ was OOS, but yes, it was closer to supply line than the Garr so it should be. I simply saw Tehran had no rail connection (so I thought it couldn't trace), and the garr couldnt get it from the HQ even if the HQ was in supply because it was out of range.

I was wrong, but still there is some issue on why the HQ is not supplied (and the northern units you can see in the photo, which are in range of it, of course).

Didnt want to mahe a huge image, so that you could apppreciate the detail but I am showing now the rest. Yes, it is an atypical situation.

I can't see why the 6-3-2 HQ would be OoS.

Did you try saving, quitting, and then and re-opening?

(And yes, any secondary that is tracing railroad supply to a primary can count up to 4 hexes to connect up rail hexes. It could even be used to get around more than one break in the rail net.)

Well, I didnt happen to remember that my opponent controlled also Palestina and Irak (at the moment I am playing 2 MWIF, a Vassal WIF CE and will start next Sun a Fatal Alliances on the board), and sometimes i confuse some games with others if I dont check everything.

Had he not controlled those, the Southern route wouldnt have been possible (CW fleet) .

Anyway I didnt check the HQ, I just thought that even if he had supply, he wouldnt have be able to deliver it to the GARR because the zoc would make it more than 4 hexes. Quoting my first message:
I can not find any way the GE GARR can be supplied. Supply doesnt reach Tehran, the HQ cannot send a basic supply (and is itself OOS), he cannot get it by sea.
I tried to hit F8 because I thought I read there was some improvement (maybe recalculating supply?) but I didnt get any recalc. And I never understood very well the "logic" of the info of F8.

Here is what I get.

We played today and the status was the same. So yes, saved, quitted, loaded . :cry:

Is there any option to make the game recalc the supply? I am not sure but kinda thought I read something about this in some thread. Tried to edit the file but it didnt work.

Just loading a save forces a recalculation of supply. For that matter, moving an HQ forces a recalculation of supply.

Thanks, we had observed that moving the HQ puts it in supply some hexes away (maybe because of recalc, although the recalc is not good because it keeps on being OOS in some hexes closer to the rail), unfortunately, for that we need to move it and, since it "is" OOS, it gets disorg.

Changing disorganization is possibly the easiest edit to make on a save file. Find the unit in the save, and subtract 4096 from the appropriate field. It probably is 5119 right now, and the result will be 1023, but that is not always the case. Subtracting 4096 is the key. (Don't do this to an organized unit!) To disorganize a unit, just add 4096.

I know that, but there are some other codes that exist for OOS+Disorg or Isolated+disorg, that go in the fifth field.

1023 = 00000001111111111 not disorganized
5119 = 00001001111111111 disorganized
17407 = 00100001111111111 not disorganized
21503 = 00101001111111111 disorganized
50175 = 01100001111111111 not disorganized
54271 = 01101001111111111 disorganized
In my case I got 17407

I changed it to 1023 to no avail

Even though both 17407 and 1023 belong to organized, the unit was still disorganized when loading, which seems to me like the game checked the supply again (wrongly again) and rewrote those codes.
