It's a bit excessive to be honest, those are some super-human Italians.

2nd time that has happened. I need to look into it. It rarely happens though.
I can't find where it is flubbing or why.

4 Xs now, REALLY watch your combat results people and it seems to be defending infantry sometimes get some sort of weird result. Don't know why... And it doesn't happen often I'd say about less than 1% of the time.

In this latest combat the defender had AT spec
May I suggest a cap on attacker casualties?

There is a cap. I think I know where this might be happening.

I'll test this today. Seems odd the only connection is subordinate

I'm going to have to run some A.I. games to figure out where it is getting this from. I can't see it in the code.
It isn't the subordinate. Both battles above have different situations too. river, terrain, specialty.

AT Spec made it happen 2 out 3 times. The 3rd was was just a riflecorp.

Wow, I hope these combat results are not occurring in PBEM games. Also, is it the 1939 Small Fleet scenario because that is the one we are playing by PBEM. There are 4 of us playing two games.

It's something in the combat system but we haven't found out what.
Feel free if it happens next time give me the situation. of both units, specialties, extra.
it has happened before and I thought I fixed it. But I keep looking over the code and I can't find what is going on.
Where the units really low in combat value by chance?

Yes, all attacked units were relatively low strength/value (but not completely worthless)
Also, in every attack the attacker has overwhelming strength, at least 3 to 1? With minimum 3 units attacking.
Honestly from a logical standpoint it's hard to imaging what can be triggering it.

All the involved units were in good shape in my case, near full strength.
The only constant I see, looking at the pictures in this thread, is that the defender has a Subordinate HQ. Maybe that is a clue.

Seen this for the 5th time myself. Always attacking an infantry unit. Unreal results... Some sort of bug with the no retreat feature? Or Multiplier on defense I assume? Make sure to watch your battle results folks and tell your opponent if they care to know.
