As R-Day draws near, some Q's from my ear

(R-Day = Release day

)
Just a few silly things I've been wondering about WS and the aural differences between it and it's little brother. Maybe some of you beta testers could taunt me a little:
Will we still get to hear Sam Kinison screaming "AUGH-AUUUGH!" when our jocks take a hit?
How about that hilarious "KLUNK" noise when a titan falls over? I don't know why, but I still get a weird urge to laugh every time I hear it. Even when the falling titan is mine! Go figure.
Is the same friendly "warning lady" still programmed into the new titan DCS computers? I hope so, she's awfully helpful. Especially when I'm so happy blasting away with my LL's that I forget to keep an eye on my heat level.
I'm assuming there will be all sorts of cool new sounds for the weapons, too. Any that stand out? The chainsaw sound was always my favorite.

Sam is still around.
The falling sound is somewhat different, sorry, as is the warning voice.
As for new cool sounds, I rather like the sound for the vibra claw.

You can easily mod all sounds to your personal likings

This is Off Topic, but will ToS designs made in 1.4 be exportable to WS?

Sam Kinison is not in TOSWS.
Same helpful lady is in TOSWS. Yes, she will tell you when your heat is yellow, red or critical. She'll also let you know your ammos out, recycled or if you're going to eject. Theres a male voice for each part as well. The 'incoming transmission' at the official TOSWS matrix games website is from the game.
If you liked the TOSv1.4 sounds you will definitely like the TOSWS audio.
Graphics are way better too.

I swear I've heard Ol' Sam scream when I was playing the WS beta...
The warning voice is there, but it's a different one than 1.4 - more computerized sounding.

I'll second TitanFodder's sentiment.
So Sam Kinison isn't in WS, eh? We'll just see about that...

All the voice parts were redone for TOSWS. And a bunch were added because of the new additions to the game. Building destroyed for example.

We get buildings? Cool! Do the missions require us to defend/destroy them? Or are they just cool terrain?
Speaking of terrain, maybe a city landscape would be great for an expansion pack...

The lady is even giving some more information like 'thread level high'. Weapons will have two sounds each to give some variety.
We had to redo the chainsaw as it was 'borrowed' from a famous shooter.
The crash sound was redone.

A lot has changed in WS. Get ready to spend some more time in the factory

Yep, there are buildings, and yep, they can be damaged, destroyed, and used for a variety of things. There are ammo bays, armor bays, repair bays, and a few others to create some ambiance in missions and campaigns. As for a city landscape, just use the map editor that comes with the game to create your own cities and industrial complexes to defend/destroy/conquer/whatever. Lots of fun.

Armor & repair bays? Are those actually functional or are those merely 'flavor descriptions'?
I have to admit that I hated the "instant repair"-bays from the BT games...

Repair bays will give your titan/jock the capability of a superior TYPE 7 damage control system. It will take its time and you have to remain inactive for the duration.
Armor bays will add 10p of armor to each damaged location. Same limitation for attack/move, you have to be inactive till its completed or its void.
So you might notice that these buildings have a meaning.

Sounds fun. I can think of the blooming scenario possibilities even now....

I think that players who haven't seen TOSWS will be stunned by its look, sound and playability.

To each non-destroyed, damaged location
Ammo Bays will replenish your ammo bins of course.
Buildings are set by map creators with the map editor, so they'll only be available in missions and campaigns. They're fully customizable.

>We get buildings?
Yes.
>Do the missions require us to defend/destroy them?
And capture them too. Mission parameters define their
exact importance. A mission briefing will usually let you
know. But there are surprises.
>Or are they just cool terrain?
Yes and No. you'll see what I mean when you play the game.
>Speaking of terrain, maybe a city landscape would be great for an expansion pack.
Why wait? Its already a part of Titans of steel Warring Suns.
